World
I always make a valiant effort to make a positive impression
on the world around me, whether that is through being kind, giving, or simply
being polite. My dream is to one day be able to give back to others the things
which I have been able to experience and have. I truly believe that each individual
is unique and harnesses the ability to have a good heart, it makes me sad to
see that not everyone in this world has the same opportunities. On general terms,
I aspire to level the playing fields for individuals who experience the
harshest inequalities in the world. Each individual if given the correct environment
and opportunities has the capability of creating a successful future for themselves.
It breaks my heart to see the unfair treatment that people across the globe experience,
I wish to one day be able to help prosper a world where each individual,
regardless of ethnicity or skin color, is valued and appreciated. Specifically,
one global event that arises strong emotional feelings is the immigrant crisis
in the Mediterranean, it is very sad to see how the world, and specially the
Unites States, is turning a blind eye to the hopeless migrants escaping their
worn torn countries. I wish the world
would be more open to embracing different cultures and people of different background
and were not so quick to judge or mistreat people which they know nothing
about. Injustice and mistreatment is rampant in the world and I aim, if ever in
a portion of power, to stifle and push aside beliefs or actions that contribute
to these negative ideas that plague or society.
I completely agree with your whole post and I think doing something to solve this issue would be great. That being said, I would like to hear more in-depth how to plan to positively impact society if ever in the portion of power. You could establish an organization that fights for human rights or even host events to educate people on this issue.
ReplyDeleteMartin,
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. When you think about executing these ideas do you have a specific place in mind? I know you have global interest, potentially proposing a solution that focuses on tackling the immigration problem in the Mediterranean.
Hi Martin,
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree with you more!
I think Art is a powerful way of impacting people's minds and opinions. There are several artists who have put up their 'art pieces' in places which are frequented or otherwise symbolic. An example that comes to my mind is when an artist printed a long list of the names of all those immigrants that died trying to cross into Europe and placed it on the steps of the European Parliament. Each member had to walk on those names in order to enter the building.
I think this could be an innovative way to drive the conversation forward.
I completely agree with you Martin! It is completely awful how people can be mistreated just based on their skin color, place their born or ethnicity. I have experienced racism about my darker skin color by an adult who told me I was a different kind just based on my skin color. I also agree with you how people are turning a blind eye with all immigrants in the Mediterranean. We need to implement a bigger voice in this subject for our government to take action on this tackling issue.
